The county of Yorkshire is the setting for a number of popular TV shows and films as well as inspiring many a writer. This holiday explores the sites behind the shows such as 'Last of the Summer Wine' and 'Emmerdale', films like 'Calendar Girls' and don't forget 'Heartbeat'.

Tour Breakdown
Monday - Leaving in the morning we set off northwards passing through the Midlands and into Yorkshire to our hotel in good time to settle in before dinner.
Tuesday - Our first stop is in the village of Holmfirth, setting of the ‘Last of the Summer Wine’. We then follow the Keighley & Worth Railway where in 1972 the ‘Railway Children’ was filmed. We arrive in Haworth, home of the Bronte sisters, with a visit to the Parsonage which was their home and is now a museum dedicated to them.
Wednesday - Today we go further to enjoy a trip on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway (included). We disembark at Goathland, better known as Aidensfield in the series ‘Heartbeat’. The station also featured as ‘Hogsmeade’ in the first Harry Potter film. In the afternoon we drive through the Dales made famous by James Herriott, the TV vet in ‘All Creatures Great and Small’. We have a stop in Thirsk, the market town where he had his home and surgery and is now a visitor centre.
Thursday - A half day to visit the market town of Skipton. Then it’s on into the Dales to explore the villages of Grassington and Kettlewell where Calender Girls was filmed.
Friday - Sadly we start our return journey stopping en route, back to the West Country, we shall arrive late afternoon.
