Tour Breakdown

Monday - We leave the West Country and travel through Somerset and in to the Cotswolds. We pass through villages and towns well known for their soft yellow stone buildings. We follow the old roman road, The Fosse Way which leads us into Leicestershire and our first overnight hotel close to the market town of Hinckley.

Tuesday - We set off heading north, crossing the ‘shires and spires’ of central England and Sherwood Forest to Yorkshire and the delightful town of Harrogate.

Wednesday - After breakfast we drive the short distance to the city of York. Spend the day exploring the Minster, the Shambles, museums including the National Railway and the Viking Museum. Walk the city walls and much more.

Thursday - We set off northwards, passing the Yorkshire Moors and heading towards Tyneside. We pass the cities of Durham and Newcastle with the scenery now changing to bleak moors and mountains as we cross the border into Scotland. We skirt round Edinburgh over the Forth road bridge to our host resort of Kinross.

Friday - After a leisurely breakfast we leave for a drive round the Trossachs. This lovely area has some of the most spectacular scenery in Scotland. We will visit the town of Aberfoyle, situated on the edge of the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park, onto Loch Katrine and continue to Callander.

Saturday - The morning is free to relax. After lunch we board the coach for our visit to Edinburgh with our first stop, the Royal Yacht Britannia. We then head into the city for sightseeing before our coach takes you up to the Castle for the evening performance of the Tattoo. Returning late to the hotel after the show.

Sunday - A free day to relax and enjoy the local area when you could visit Kinross House Gardens or take a boat trip to Loch Leven Castle.

Monday - Sadly we must leave Scotland and head south passing Glasgow on the way and make a stop in the pretty town of Moffat. We then cross the border at Gretna Green back into England and onto our overnight hotel in Carlisle.

Tuesday - Today we again travel south into the Lake District passing Ullswater and over the Kirkstone Pass to Windermere. Then, travelling on we pass through Lancashire into Cheshire, passing the City of Chester. We cross over the border into Wales to our host resort Mold.

Wednesday - We drive the short distance to visit the cathedral city of Chester, originally a Roman town where you can walk the walls all the way round. The Rows are shops on two levels and the River Dee passes through the City close to the Racecourse.

Thursday - Sadly our last day. We leave after breakfast and drive south through the borders of Wales. We pass Oswestry, Welshpool and Newtown where we will have a stop. On then to Llandrindod Wells, Builth Wells and over the Brecon Beacons into South Wales. We then cross the Severn Bridge back into England and homewards into the West Country.

Beaufort Park Hotel Mold is located near this market town. All rooms have en suite facilities, satellite TV, trouser press, hairdryer and hospitality tray.
